Welcome . Love . Belonging

Because we know ourselves to be loved by God, we want to be a church that welcomes everyone, shares God’s love, and offers a place of peace and belonging.

At St Stephen’s with St Julian’s, we believe that everyone is made in the image of God and is worthy of love, dignity and respect.

We share the vision and values of Inclusive Church and are committed to being a church were all people are welcomed, affirmed and valued, regardless of age, disability, economic circumstances, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, mental health, neurodiversity, sexuality or background.

Whatever your circumstances, whether your faith is strong, uncertain or still being explored, you are welcome here.

We want both our churches to be places where no one feels excluded and everyone can find a genuine sense of belonging, whether visiting for the first time or having worshipped here for a lifetime.

As a parish, we welcome the use of the Church of England’s Prayers of Love and Faith, giving thanks for the love and commitment shared between two people.

We recognise that becoming a truly inclusive church is an ongoing journey of listening, learning and growing together. We are committed to making our welcome a reality in the way we worship, serve and care for one another.

Whoever you are, wherever you are on life’s journey, there is a place for you here.
